Complete installation steps for eSIM on iPhone and Android. Install before departure, activate immediately upon landing.
Pre-installation checklist
1. Confirm your phone supports eSIM (iPhone XS/XR and later all support it; Android requires checking specific model)
2. Save the QR code or activation code after purchasing eSIM (usually sent via email)
3. Recommended to install in Wi-Fi environment before departure, activate immediately upon landing
iPhone eSIM installation process

Open Settings, enter Cellular
Tap Settings app, select Cellular or Cellular Data option.
Scroll down to find Add eSIM
Scroll down on Cellular page, find Add eSIM or Add Cellular Plan.
Scan QR code, activate eSIM
Select Use QR Code, scan the QR code received after purchase. System will automatically download and configure eSIM profile.
Installation complete
Follow prompts to complete setup, add a label for new eSIM (e.g. 'Travel'). After installation, new number appears in Cellular.
Android phone eSIM installation process
Menu locations vary slightly across different Android brands. Below are common paths for mainstream brands
Settings > Network & Internet
Open Settings, enter Network & Internet or Connections.
SIM cards & mobile network
Tap 'SIM cards & mobile network' or 'Mobile network', find eSIM related entry.
Tap Add eSIM
Tap + on eSIM card or Add eSIM button to add new virtual SIM.
Continue to next step
After reading eSIM intro, tap Continue to scan QR code.
Scan QR to install eSIM
Scan QR code received after purchase, system downloads carrier profile.
Tap Settings, complete
After configuration, tap 'Settings' or 'Complete' to activate eSIM. Recommend enabling data roaming.

Q: Do I need to activate immediately after installation?
Most plans start counting validity from installation or first connection. It's recommended to install just before departure, or confirm the plan's validity start rules to avoid wasting days in advance.
Q: Can I keep my physical SIM card while using eSIM?
